Studies identify that puppies between the ages of 7 to 14 weeks are at their most “open” minded state. From this time on, the window of opportunity starts to reduce and by 6 months of age they are becoming hard-wired. This means the most beneficial time you can use a quality Dog Day Care facility is when your puppy is fully vaccinated and as soon as you can. The highly concentrated and managed environment at DogHQ Day Care provides the perfect environment to develop a robustly sociable, young dog. DogHQ is so passionate about puppy socialisation, we have developed a programme specifically for puppies under 4 months to get them on the right path to a happy life. For a young dog, long periods of time playing in groups with other like-minded play mates provides the mental, social and physical stimulation they need. Most people under-estimate the level of stimulation their young dog needs to be content and in most cases two walks a day doesn’t come close! Often it’s not until after someone starts using DogHQ Day Care that they realise just how under-stimulated their dog was. They take home a different dog! The most common comment from new customers is that they “can’t believe the difference it has made”. |
Even older dogs, that are less into play time, get much out of the social stimulation that Day Care provides. As dogs get older, their desire to play hard out, naturally reduces. How much it reduces is a very individual thing… some still act like puppies at the age of ten! Older dogs gain most from the social and mental stimulation they receive at day care. DogHQ entertains dogs as old as 10 years on a regular basis and they get as much out of it as their younger, more energetic companions.
